Development in industry has also caused much pollution. And new inventions have put many people out of work.However, it cannot be denied thatpeople are living a life that could never be dreamed of twenty years before.
  　　First, we can observe easily that, currently, people, especiallythe old ones,have benefited a lot fromthe rapid social progress.In the past, houses were small.But it was not unusual thatpeople of 2 or 3 generations lived under the same roof,which meansextreme crowdedness and inconvenience.By contrast, nowadays, housesare not onlybigger,but alsoequipped with electric appliances,which meansthe elderly's life is much more comfortable than what it used to be previously.
