　　As a result of the rapid development of world economy in conjunction with the process of urbanization, more and more people choose to live in big cities. This phenomenon has brought about a sizzling debate concerning what causes this situation and whether it is a positive development.

　　Doubtlessliving in big citiesbrings a considerable number of advantages, which is whypeople move to big cities.To begin with, it is undeniable thatwork conditions in big cites are usually better than those in the country and small cities. With more work opportunities and a higher level of salary, people in other places, especially the young people, are declined to move to big cities.In addition, not onlydoes living in big cities offer people better work conditions,but alsofacilities of higher quantity and quality. These facilities, such as hospitals, schools, shopping malls, entertainment centers and other public facilities, are extremely attractive to country people and those in small cities.

　　In spite of the benefits ofliving in big cities,by no means should people disregard the fact that it also gives rise to an array of problems. To start with, it is universally acknowledged thatthe pollution and enormous stress in big cities are physically damaging. Being surrounded with exhaust emission of cars and facing stress induced from competition, dwellers in big cities are more likely to suffer from a range of diseases, such as heart diseases, depression and even cancer.What is more, living in big cities cuts off people's interaction with nature.A good case in point is thata substantial number of children growing up in big cities are not able to recognize common wildlife and crops.In the last place, people moving to big cities may adversely affect the development of agriculture. If everyone in the country moved to big cities, agriculture would be under the threat of shortage of labor resources.
